Disability Parking Permits in NSW
If the person you care for has a physical impairment, they can get an Australian disability parking permit that allows them to park in disabled parking areas. Their physical impairment can be temporary or permanent, and you will need a doctor’s certificate to apply.

ACT Taxi Subsidy Scheme
The ACT Taxi Subsidy Scheme (TSS) provides financial assistance to ACT residents with a disability or significant mobility restriction preventing them from using public and community transport. The TSS is intended to assist members attend essential activities such as medical appointments, employment commitments, and social and family gatherings.

ACT Interstate Patient Travel Assistance Scheme (ACT IPTAS)
The Isolated Patients Travel and Accommodation Assistance Scheme (IPTAAS), provides financial assistance towards travel and accommodation costs when you need to travel more than 100km one way or 200km within a week for specialised medical treatment that is not available locally.

The Community Transport Program (CTP) assists individuals who are transport disadvantaged owing to physical, social, cultural and / or geographic factors. CTP is funded by the NSW Government and aims to address transport disadvantage at the local level via community transport organisations.

Qantas Carer Concession Card
The Qantas Carer Concession Card is issued to people with significant support requirements who through a physical, sensory, intellectual, cognitive, or psychosocial disability are unable to travel on the aircraft without the full-time assistance of a carer.

If you’re severely vision impaired, you can apply for a vision impaired person (VIP) travel pass. The pass entitles you to free (or concession) travel on public transport in NSW.
